Exporters to confer posthumous honor on Baby Sanchez

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The late lawyer Virgilio L. “Baby” Sanchez, former mayor of San Fernando, will be conferred a posthumous award Thursday during the 11th Buy Pinoy Exporters Fair in Mandaluyong City.

The award will be presented by Francis Chua, president of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc.

The affair will be attended by Senator Richard Gordon; Congressman Rey B. Aquino; Sergio Ortiz-Luis, president of the Philippine Exporters Federation (Philexport) Inc.; Jose Bituin, president of Philexport in Region 3; and Blesilda Lantayona, regional director of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Region 3.

Aquino will deliver an inspirational message on the occasion.

Sanchez, who died in a vehicular accident in China last September 6, was the over-all Buy Pinoy Project Coordinator prior to his death. He was also a trustee of Philexport.

Many of the participants in Thursday’s exporters fair were members of the holiday decors and gift wares sector which was headed by Sanchez.

The Buy Pinoy Exporters Fair was launched in 2002 to promote economic patriotism under the Buy Pinoy, Save Jobs philosophy of the Buy Pinoy Movement.
