By Albert B. Lacanlale

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- World champ Efren ?Bata? Reyes is set to grace the flag raising ceremony at the San Fernando City Hall as special guest on Monday.

Sun.Star Network Online round-by-round coverage of the Pacquiao-Morales Sunday fight here

Mayor Oscar S. Rodriguez, Vice Mayor Edwin Santiago, the City Council and the different department heads will lead a warm welcome for Bata, via the awarding of Resolution 2006-119 “Extending Meritorious Recognition and Commendation to Mr. Efren ‘Bata, The Magician’ Reyes, a full-blooded Kapampangan, for having been adjudged the World’s King of Billiards”.

Jaime Lazatin, co-sponsor of the resolution, will hand to Bata the framed copy of the resolution.

Bata, a world-class athlete, recently bested other representatives from different countries during the World’s 8-Ball 2006 competition in Reno, Nevada, making him P25 million richer - the highest winning prize in the history of billiards.

Shortly after this much talked about victory, Bata once again won the Asian Billiards Circuit in Indonesia.

More than “The Magician’s” excellence in playing billiards, he is also commended for his consistent low profile attitude. He always makes himself available to kabalens in every occasion he’s invited to attend and share his God-given talent and expertise in billiards.
