'Aslag Kapampangan' holds 1st founding anniversary

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Artists Supporting Local Artists Guild (Aslag) Kapampangan on Saturday conducted its first founding anniversary at the Wow Hilaga with Pampanga Governor Mark Lapid gracing the event.

Aslag Kapampangan is a non-profit-non-stock organization of Kapampangan artists, which develops, promotes, and preserves the Kapampangan culture and the arts.

It offers opportunities to talented Kapampangan youth aspiring to develop their crafts and deepen their passion for the Kapampangan culture and arts.

The group aims to support the local artists in their fields of endeavor by developing and enhancing their talents in collaboration with the community, government offices and non-government organizations (NGOs).

It also honors and gives due recognition to the outstanding and exemplary Kapampangan artists. Invites other Kapampangan artists to become members of this guild and collaborate with them.

Also, it networks with other local artists, organizations, institutions and individuals to develop, promote and preserve the Kapampangan culture and arts and empowers the Kapampangan talents through seminars, workshops, concerts, contests and shows, giving them opportunities to earn a living.

The Pampanga Provincial Board (PB) declared March 22, 2006 and every year thereafter as "Kapampangan Artists' Day."

Through its approved Resolution No. 563 series of 2006, the PB, in due recognition and tribute to all outstanding Kapampangan cultural workers and artists in all branches of the arts in shaping the Kapampangan values and commitments particularly the advocacy for the development and promotion of the Kapampangan culture and arts.
