CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Senior Board Member Cris Garbo has declined to head any Provincial Board (PB) committee, as he proclaimed himself as the minority floor leader.
According to sources, Garbo had asked for the natural resources and health committee, but he was not prioritized by the majority of the body.
Garbo, the sources said, due to his behavior during Monday session was warned by Vice Governor Joseller “Yeng” Guiao to be thrown out of the PB session hall.
First district Tars Halili was proclaimed majority floor leader among with its members Karl Domingo, Edna David, Catalina Bagasina, Art Salalila, Ric Yabut, JQ Quimbao and Salvador Dimson III.
The committees and respective chairpersons are: agriculture and appropriations - Quiambao; barangay affairs - Cesar Magat; cooperative, environmental protection and natural resources - Yabut; education and culture, trade and industry and commerce - Bagasina; health, social services and family and women - Edna David; human resources and development, rules revision of ordinances - Halili; justice, human rights and good governance, public works and transportation and communications - Salalila; municipal affairs and community development - Nilo Caballa; tourism and ways and means - Domingo; youth and sports development - Dimson.
Among the five committees still unfilled were labor and employment, public order and security, human settlement and cultural minorities and senior citizens affair.
