Sto Tomas mayor vows support to senior citizens

STO. TOMAS -- Mayor Joselito F. Naguit vowed to support various programs for the senior citizens in Sto. Tomas Friday.

Naguit at the same time thanked the elderly for providing guidance and advice to the town officials regarding the progress and development of the town.

"Nung aliwa kekayu ikayung pengari mi ala ku sana ngeni kening arapan yu. Ikayu pu ing matibe a asias ning balen tamu," Naguit said during the general assembly of the Federation of Senior Citizens Association (Sto. Tomas Chapter) members.

Despite the limited resources, Naguit said the local government still prioritizes the needs of senior citizens. The elderly have been the "guiding light" in my administration," he said.

"Ikayu pung senior citizens ing maging sandalan ampong pagasa daring kayanakan. Pauli daring maulaga yung advice, mebiasa kaming gagalang, meging law abiding at saka responsabling memalen," Naguit added.

Naguit also informed the elderly about the municipal government's projects including the widening and beautification of the San Matias crossing, illumination of streets, concreting of barangay roads and canalization projects.

"Bilang pamuntuk ning kaluguran tang balen, asahan yu pu ing suporta ku. Makabuklat yang parati ing upisina ku para kekayung pengari ku at kareng sablang memalen," Naguit added.

Nelson Canlas, Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs chairman, said the general assembly was held for the seniors to select the leaders of the seniors.

"Buri tam u mung ipaganaka na ing pamamiling OSCA chairman eya basta basta uling iya ing manyundu karing proyektu at programang lakwan tamu. Gampanan na ing atlung banuang pamag-serbisyu para king kapakanan da ring senior citizens keng balen tamu," he said.

Also present during the affair were OSCA Barangay Association presidents, federation officers and board of directors, among others.
