Saturday, December 15, 2007 MWD opens new office in Madapdap resettlement
MABALACAT -- The Mabalacat Water District (MWD) has opened its new sub-office in Madapdap Resettlement Center in a bid to improve further its services.
MWD general manager Francis Dimaliwat said concessionaires in the resettlement center deserve better service as well as a comfortable and presentable office.
"We achieve another goal in connection with the mission and vision of the Mabalacat Water District. With our determination, will, and perseverance, we will able to fulfill little by little our objectives," Dimaliwat said.
The cost of the sub-office, which was built inside a 400-hectars property donated by the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC),reached about P1 million, according to Dimaliwat.
Starting Monday, the new branch will accept payments, service connection applications, complaints, and others, according to MWD chairman Diosdado Pangilinan.
With the opening of the new office, Pangilinan said consumers in the resettlement and other adjacent communities do not need to go to the district's main office in Mabiga to pay for their bills.
The MWD has maintained a temporary sub-office near the Pelco 2 office in Madapdap resettlement since 2000 when the HUDCC turned over the water facility to the water district.
Dimaliwat also announced the construction of another sub-office in Mawaque resettlement site, which will be completed in time for the MWD's 30th anniversary in April 2008. (RGN)
