They unanimously endorsed Simpauco, the current Macabebe Association of Barangay Captains president for the FABC presidency.
Filing of the certificates of candidacy for the federation president election is from December 19 to 22. The election is scheduled on December 29.
Present during the meeting were ABC presidents of Mabalacat, Magalang, Arayat, Sta, Ana, Mexico, Sta. Rita, Sasmuan, Porac, Floridablanca, Lubao, Guagua, Minalin, Macabebe, Masantol, Candaba, San Luis, San Simon, Apalit and Sto. Tomas.
Simpauco, as the incumbent senior director of the FABC, took over the post of former board member Cesar Magat as ex-officio member of the board.
Magat has already served his three terms as provincial Liga president.
Magat, who hails from Minalin, and Simpauco are both from the fourth district of the province.
Simpauco, who is a barangay chairman of Caduang Tete, Macabebe, was re-elected for his third term during the last Barangay and Sanggunian Kabataan (SK) elections.
Simpauco thanked his fellow Liga presidents for their trust and confidence in his leadership, saying that he will always abide by his principles and will work hard for the betterment of the league and its members.
"I, first and foremost, will look after the welfare of the barangay and its chairmen and the federation. It is overwhelming and humbling to see that majority of my fellow chairmen have manifested their support to me," Simpauco said.
Magat said he is confident that Simpauco will be a good successor, saying that the fourth district needs one more provincial board member in his person.
He said the second and third districts of the province have three board members while the fourth district, which has eight towns, has only two board members.
Simpauco said if he is elected to the top FABC post, he will work for the increase of barangay allowances being given by the provincial and municipal governments as aid to barangay leaders, councilmen and watchmen.
Simpauco added that he will also work closely with the Pampanga Provincial Health Office to provide anti-rabies vaccination for dogs, since most of the barangays here lack the necessary vaccinations for rabies victims.
He said he is still an "observer" in the Provincial Board, adding that once the issue concerning barangays is discussed, that would be the time for him to "speak his mind."
