Trader hits group protesting Pampanga's best products

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Pampanga's Best owner Lolita Hizon, the staunch supporter-turned-critic of Governor Eddie Panlilio, on Monday criticized the groups allegedly campaigning to boycott her firm's products in the country and abroad.

This was disclosed by Hizon shortly after she received an email from certain Glenda Yabut accusing her of "her alleged recent political behavior against the governor."

The email sender asked Hizon to disclose the total amount she has contributed to the campaign of Panlilio so that the group may collate funds through fund-raising activities "to reimburse the amount" Hizon shelled out during the campaign period.

"When she shelled out a large amount of money to the Panlilio's campaign kitty, there were strings attached to it," Yabut stated.

However, Hizon denied that she helped Panlilio to gain concessions from the governor except for good governance and fulfillment if his campaign promises "to bring the Capitol for the poor."

Hizon furthered that whatever expenses she has incurred for Panlilio's campaign for governorship, she will not ask the priest to pay her back as she only asked for the realization of the “Krusada for Good Governance” that the governor has once promised in his campaign sorties.

The businesswoman, in her reply to Yabut regarding the boycott of Pampanga's Best products, said they were used to competitions by using the best raw materials for their products.

"I believe our corporation grew because people like our products. Please ask the volunteers of Mr. Panlilio if they enjoyed eating our products during the campaign," she stressed.

Earlier, an unidentified caller threatened to blow up the factory of Pampanga's Best located in Barangay Dela Paz here. (MHD)
