Mayors vow support to village federation

MINALIN -- "Rest assured that the Pampanga Mayors League (PML) will be behind you always," said PML secretary general and Minalin Mayor Edgar Flores during the oath-taking and presentation of officers and members of the Liga ng mga Barangay (LB) Federation last Thursday.

Flores said the PML, led by its president, Lubao Mayor Dennis Pineda, is behind the programs and advocacies of the LB.

Earlier, LB president Joel Simapauco of Macabebe town asked the support of Pampanga second district Representative Juan Miguel "Mikey" Arroyo for the village league's programs and projects for their constituents, as well as for the province and for his fellow barangay leaders.

Arroyo, for his part, said he would continue to support the LB and its members.

Flores also lauded the unity among the members of the LB from the president down to its members, even saying that he is optimistic that its members will deliver good and quality service for the Kapampangans and for Pampanga.

He also thanked the barangay leaders for their continuous support to their respective local chief executives and hoped for more programs for their respective constituency in their respective municipalities and villages.

Other officers of the LB include vice president Carlos Carlos III (Lubao), auditor Ferdinand Salalila (Sta. Rita), treasurer Marcelino Reyes (Mexico) and secretary Angelo Layug (Guagua).

The Board of Directors includes Rodolfo Gonzales (Magalang), Rogelio Yumul (Mabalacat), Renato Garcia (Floridablanca), Enrique Garcia (Arayat), Melchor Pingol (Minalin), and Virgilio Cayanan (San Luis).

The members include Fortunato Castro (Apalit), Jose Maria Hizon (Bacolor), Bernardo Guevarra (Masantol), Amelia Marcelo (San Simon), Malchor Caluag (City of San Fernando), Valeriano Lingat (Sto. Tomas), Pio Montoya (Sta. Ana), Renato Banting (Sasmuan), Rudy Canlas (Porac) and Feliciano Pelayo (Candaba). (RCG)
