School building named after a nanny

STO. TOMAS -- Acknowledging the sweat and blood that their housemaid shed for them, physician Quirino Flores donated a school building to an elementary school and named it after her.

The two-classroom school building in Barangay Sapa here was named after a certain Flora Manurac, the Flores' nanny for 57 years.

Sto. Tomas Mayor Joselito Naguit said the donation is some kind of paying a tribute to Manurac by the family since she was instrumental in the eventual turning of their children as professionals.

During its inauguration last week, Naguit lauded and thanked the donors of the school building, even saying it will be a big help for a big number of students in the school.

Since education is one of his top priorities for his constituents, he donated construction materials to a number of schools in the town proper.

He said the materials would be used for the fencing of the schools for them to be properly secured as well as the students.

Naguit also said his projects are also supported by 4th district Representative Ana York Bondoc-Sagum, especially the ones that fall under education. (RCG)
