Thursday, January 31, 2008 Ex-police chief tops Clark Chairman's golf cup
CLARK FREEPORT -- Former PNP chief Oscar Calderon led all scores with low net of 72 par in the recent Clark Chairman's Cup Invitational last Saturday at the Mimosa Golf and Country Club here.
The event, led by no less than former President Fidel Ramos, was also participated by top government officials and investors in Clark Freeport and Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
Clark Development Corporation (CDC) executive vice president Philip Jose Panlilio said Dennis Antonio also won the low gross by scoring 75 in the Mountain View Course of the renowned Mimosa golf course in
Clark.
Panlilio said the former President teed at the first hole together with CDC chairman Rizalino Navarro, and Jimei Inc. chairman Jack Lam and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) chairman Feliciano Salonga. Jimei is the operator of Fontana Leisure Parks.
CDC president Liberato Laus, Texas Instruments Philippines president Bing Viera, and Angeles City Mayor Francisco Nepomuceno played at the 2nd hole of the course in the "Shot Gun" tournament format.
Also present in the tournament were Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) chief Narciso Abaya, SBMA chairman Felicito Salonga, BCDA spokesperson Eduardo Lena, 600th Air Base Wing commander Alejandro Camagay, and Aleck Cruz, who represented Manila North Tollways Corp. (MNTC) president Ping de Jesus.
Panlilio added that top honchos from the CDC Board, Clark International Airport Corp., Subic-Clark Alliance for Development Council, Clark Investors and Locators Association, Air Transportation Office, Northrail, local government units, and various national agencies are also expected to join the event.
Also winner in the Class A are Korean businessman Byeong Jae Choi who captured the champion trophy while his compatriot Lee Byung Duk was the runner-up.
Class B championship was bagged by Cat Joe Tayag and followed by Justin Flores as runner-up.
While Fontana Leisure Parks President and General Manager Anthony Biggs bagged the Class C trophy while Lloyd Maliwat was the runner-up of the same class.
