102 families in Angeles to be displaced
By Dante M. Fabian

ANGELES CITY -- The Local Urban Poor Affairs and Housing Office (Lupaho) of the City Government prepares for the evacuation of 102 families sheltered at Metro Clark Homes in Barangay Pulung Maragul here.

This, if the court would issue a demolition order favorable to Rodolfo Bacani, a former congressman in Manila, who claims to be the rightful owner of parcels of land in the area.

Lupaho consultant Lener Biag said he was notified of the possible demolition, which could happen soon once the court dictates the local sheriffs to forcibly clear the area from illegal settlers.

"The mayor (Francis Nepomuceno) gave us instructions on how and where to relocate the would-be displaced families, and we are right now working on that," he explained.

A copy of the Motion for Writ of Demolition docketed under Case No. 04-227 filed before Judge Andres Pangilinan Jr. of the Municipal Trial Court (MTC) Branch 1 here obtained by Biag reveals the court may issue anytime a demolition order favorable to the claimant, who is rumored to be the brother of Bishop Teodoro Bacani.

Biag met the affected residents last Sunday and discussed the remedies that would be undertaken by the City Government in case demolition would take place.

Barangay Pulung Maragul councilmen Jojo Dimapilis, Dominador Guerilla, Leo Kintanar, Orlando Lobo, and Leo Ancheta assisted Biag in discussing the city government's relocation plans.
