Recycling Market Day at SM Clark

ON MARCH 1, 2008, SM City Clark had its Recycling Market Day (RMD) at the mall's Open Parking A.

SM City Clark had more participants than expected, that the activity time had to be extended until 4:30 p.m. during the last RMD (it usually ends at 3 p.m.).

SM City Clark is grateful to have participants from Holy Family Academy, AMA Computer Learning Center and Angeles University Foundation.

Elementary students of L'Altra School also came to attend a Storytelling activity held at the Cyberzone, featuring "The Last Tree" (Ang Huling Puno) by author Richard Reynante.

After the storytelling activity, they were toured in one of the SM Cinemas to see and learn about "waterless urinals" and how it conserves water.

Residents of Villa Teresa, Diamond Subdivision, Pulung Bulo, Malabanias, Magalang, Porac and other nearby areas contributed their recyclable materials as well.

SM City Clark employees and tenants participated too.

The contributing efforts of the community sold: 113.5 kilograms (kgs.) of PET bottles and plastic; four kgs of Aluminum; 4,808.5 kgs of old cartons, mixed pictures, old newspapers and white papers; 430 kgs of assorted electronic items; and two kgs of battery.

Recycling Market Day at SM City Clark is every first Saturday of the month, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Open Parking A.

Scrap papers and cardboards, old magazines, newspapers and books, empty ink and toner cartridge, plastic bottles and plastic scraps, used lead batteries from cars, UPS/voltage regulator, aluminum, tin cans and busted rechargeable lamps may be traded in.

Other items like polysterene, styrofoam, junk cell phone and cell phone batteries are also accepted but not for trading or selling. (Press release)
