Smart holds Job and Fun Fair in Angeles City

ANGELEÑOS can expect jobs, fun and games when Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), in partnership with the City Government of Angeles, conducts a Job and Fun Fair in the entertainment capital of Pampanga under Smart Pinoy, its service program for Filipino migrant workers and their families here in the Philippines.

The Smart Pinoy Job and Fun Fair in Pampanga is the first of seven that Smart will hold nationwide for aspiring Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWS) and families of Filipinos working abroad.

"Through Smart Pinoy, we are serving not only our brothers abroad, but also their families by working with local government to provide them employment opportunities. We know that when we help their families, we are helping Filipinos abroad to achieve financial security and a better life for the entire family, which is really why many of them leave in the first place," said Danilo Mojica, head of Smart Wireless Consumer Division.

"Our services and products under Smart Pinoy are geared towards helping Filipino migrant workers and their families achieve their dreams through every stage of the entire overseas experience -- from application, to employment, to reintegration," he added.

Smart is working with the Public Employment Service Office and the Tourism Office of the Angeles City Government to offer local jobs on March 28 and overseas employment on March 29 at the Nepo Mart quadrangle.

The job fair is open to everyone -- Smart and non-Smart subscribers -- as long as they register at the registration counters to get a job fair kit.

Representatives of participating manpower agencies will only entertain those with job fair kits.

Interested applicants are advised to bring their resume and a valid ID.

Those who participate in the Smart Pinoy Job and Fun Fair are also in for fun and entertainment from celebrity guests led by Drama Princess Judy Ann Santos, sexy actress Jen Rosendahl, comic talents Pekto, Joy Viado, Cookie and Tita Belly and local rock band Sugarfree.

They will also have a chance to win premium items and exciting prizes during the Smart Pinoy Bingo Bonanza.

Lucky winners will bring home mobile phones, P10,000 worth of groceries for the sari-sari showcase, a Smart Money card with P10,000 load, a Smart Retailer SIM with P10,000 load for the Pangkabuhayan showcase and for the bingo blackout, a chance to win a brand new Isuzu Crosswind.

To get a Smart Pinoy Bingo Bonanza card, all they have to do is to purchase any of Smart products at the designated sales booths in Angeles City, or use Smart International Services such as IDD, International Text, International MMS, and International Voice Text on the day of the event.

Smart will also hold the Smart Pinoy Job and Fun Fair in Davao City, Iloilo City, La Union, Batangas City, Vigan, and Cavite.
