Capitol distributes 14 multi-cabs to Lubao villages

LUBAO -- The Provincial Government has distributed 14 multi-purpose vehicles (Multi Cabs), which were remnants of the original project of former Pampanga Governor Mark Lapid and Senator Lito Lapid to 14 villages here.

The multi cabs were distributed to barangay chiefs in simple turn over rites last Friday.

The multi cabs were the initial projects of the Lapids during their term of which barangays were given vehicles to facilitate emergency transportation and other vehicular needs of the villages.

Some of the multi cabs that were purchased through the elder Lapid's Countryside Development Fund (CDF), however, were given to barangays without the necessary registration documents.

Barangays had a problem on where to pass the burden on the repairs, maintenance and penalty for using unregistered vehicles.

Pampanga Governor Eddie Panlilio said the multi cabs given to the 14 barangays in Lubao already have the needed documents.

Panlilio said the Provincial Government will find ways to hand over the multi cabs of 30 more barangays here.

"Barangay officials now will not worry anymore on the maintenance and repair of the vehicles since the documents are already assigned to them," he said. (IOF)
