Cory's grandson thanks Kapampangans for prayers
By Ian Ocampo Flora

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The grandson of former President Corazon "Cory" Aquino has expressed his gratitude for the prayers extended to his grandmother by Pampanga folk, adding that the former president is still in one with Filipinos who are in search for "truth".

Kiko Dee, Cory's grandson, thanked civil society groups, religious groups coming from various denominations, and the Kapampangans who attended the recent Ecumenical Celebration and Forum at the St. Scholastica's Academy here where national broadband network (NBN)-ZTE witness Rodolfo Noel Lozada was a guest speaker.

Dee, who represented the former president in the gathering, said that he is very thankful for the prayers extended to her grandmother.

He was, however, a bit disappointed over the "warm welcome" received by Lozada outside the school. He said there would always be people who would go against those who are in search for truth.

It could be remembered that Lozada was greeted by hostile streamers and some 500 rallyists who introduced themselves as members of the Kongreso ng Mamamayan sa Central Luzon, some local government officials and barangay chairmen in front of the St. Scholastica's Academy here last April 20.

"Even though my grandmother is not here she is in one with us in the search for genuine truth," Dee said.

Aquino, who used to accompany Lozada in his talks, was earlier diagnosed with colon cancer.

Dee extended the thanks and gratitude of the former president to those who have been praying for her quick recovery and strength in her battle against colon cancer.
