Dolores police chief, 3 other cops axed
By Marna H. Dagumboy

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The chief and three investigators of the Community Police Assistance Center (Compac) 2 in Barangay Dolores have been dismissed for their failure to promptly respond to the broad daylight robbery of Porac Bank last April 30.

City Police Director Renato Soria said in an interview Saturday that the relief of Senior Insp. Rogelio Alocelja and the three investigators were carried out after the robbing of Porac Bank. Some P200,000 in cash was carted away during the four-minute heist.

Soria did not identify the investigators who were transferred to the police station here.

"Kahit na hindi namin kagustuhan, lalo na ng mga pulis ko na naka-assign sa Compac 2, hindi naman namin pwedeng ipagsawalang kibo ang nangyari. Makakaasa po sila na hindi kami titigil sa follow-up investigation para ma-aresto agad namin ang mga suspek dito," Soria said. (We can't afford to shrug off what happened in Compac 2. Rest assured that we will not stop until we arrest those behind the robbery.)

On Friday, Pampanga Provincial Police Director Keith Singian gave Soria a 72-hour ultimatum to arrest those behind last Wednesday's robbery of Porac Bank or face relief.

He urged the City of San Fernando police chief to be "more aggressive" in maintaining peace and order in the city.

On Wednesday, two robbers barged into the Porac Bank, which is roughly 200 meters away from a police outpost, armed with caliber .38 pistols.

One of the robbers disarmed the guard on duty while the other went directly to the cubicle where the bank manager's table was located.
