3 'motorcycle-riding snatchers' nabbed

CITY of San Fernando policemen collared three motorcycle-riding snatchers believed to be responsible for a series of snatching incidents in the city, a police official said.

Superintendent Renato Soria, the city's chief of police, identified the suspects as Glen Aquino, Michael Aguila and Aries Galang.

Soria said while victim Martin Songco was boarding his car in front of Susie's Cuisine along Dolores Road on Sunday, he was approached by two of the suspects and forcibly grab his gold necklace worth P72,000. The suspects were riding a motorcycle during the incident.

The two immediately sped off to Villa Barosa Subdivision, where Songco trailed them.

The victim said upon entering the subdivision, a group of bystanders noticed him trailing the suspects. One of the bystanders helped him, which resulted in the arrest of Aquino.

Aguila and Galang were also arrested later after they were taking away the belt bag of victim Leonardo dela Torre, which was placed inside his Toyota L300 van parked in front of Ocampo's Marketing along McArthur Highway in the city.

Mayor Oscar Rodriguez has appealed to the public to be vigilant and cooperate with the police in apprehending crooks and criminals in the city.

He also commended the police for the arrest of the suspects. (MHD/ABL)
