ADD leader declared 'persona non grata'

The resolution stated that Razon, in one of the episodes of his daily morning TV show "Good Morning Kuya" aired over UNTV 37 last March, he criticized the decision of the municipality to order and effect the closure of the buildings erected inside the compound of the ADD Convention Center in Barangay Sampaloc.

In the said program, the resolution furthered, Razon claimed, among others, that the decision and action of the Municipal Government to effect the closure of the structures was perpetuated without reason but by influences from other sectors and religious organizations unfavorable of the ADD.

The resolution stated: "The ADD's complaint is that practically all rules and regulations imposed by the Municipal Government and other applications of local permits were denied because the Municipal Government who is supposed to issue permits is against the ADD, said Razon."

It said that the factual events and data will prove that Razon's claims were "untrue and baseless" with the contention that the decision of the Municipal Government to order and effect the closure of the structures inside the ADD compound came after thorough investigations and observation of due process.

"For the longest time," according to the council, "dating back to the previous administration, ADD officials neglected the call of the Municipal Government to comply with the regulations."

"The Municipal Government has time and again reaffirmed its commitment to protect the morals of its constituents proof of which is the local officials' continuous monitoring of compliance and closure of establishments found violating its policy," it was stated.

"Razon's pronouncement in the said TV program has misinformed and misled the public and is meant to malign the wisdom of its officials and put them in a bad light with the intention to project them as bias, inhumane and unjust, all of which has caused damage not only to the individuals concerned but to the entire constituency of Apalit which the officials swore to protect, serve and defend," the resolution also said.

Sun.Star tried but failed to contact Razon for his reaction.
