FLORIDABLANCA -- Second district Congressman Juan Miguel "Mikey" Arroyo last Thursday distributed PhilHealth cards for this town's 1500 beneficiaries, the first visit in his district since his last stop here weeks ago.

Not only did he give out Philhealth cards, but the lawmaker also turned over stores in different barangays where his constituents can avail of cheaper rice from the National Food Authority (NFA).

The program dubbed as Tindahan Natin Program is a joint project of the Office of the President and the local government unit (LGU) here led by this town's Mayor Eduardo Guerrero.

In his speech, the young Arroyo lauded Guerrero for defending President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo from her political detractors, who visited the province recently. He also vowed to support Guerrero's administration, specifically in the realization of several projects that would be beneficial to the people.

"Thank you very, very much and I feel touched for defending the daughter of Pampanga against unfounded evidence," Mikey added.

It could be noted earlier that Guerrero did not welcome Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan during his supposed visit in his town. Instead, hostile streamers were posted.

At the height of National Broadband Network (NBN)-ZTE deal star-witness Rodolfo Lozada Jr.'s visit in the province, as the representative of the Pampanga leaders, Guerrero stood for the sentiments of the Kapampangans, condemning Lozada's his presence at the hometown of the President.

In an interview, Guerrero said he felt elated with the remarks of Arroyo.

"I just did what I had have to do and I have to stand by my convictions that the Arroyos deserve to receive," Guerrero furthered.
