Monday, May 12, 2008 Kapampangan lawyer hurdles UK solicitor's exam
ANGELES CITY -- Lawyer Agustin L. Angeles successfully passed the Heads I (Property), II (Civil Litigation) and III (Financial Services and Accounts) of the prestigious Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test (QLTT) held last March in Los Angeles, California.
QLTT is the qualifying examination required for admission to the roll of solicitors of England and Wales.
Angeles finished Business and Economics major in Accountancy at De La Salle University in 1990 and completed law studies at the Ateneo School of Law in 1995. He is a member of the State Bar of California, American Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyer's Association, Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a licensed mediator.
Angeles is a senior partner of Angeles & Canlas Law Office. He is a former associate lawyer of Feria Feria Lugtu & La'O. He also acted as the Executive Assistant of Commissioner Emmanuel Y. Angeles of the Preparatory Commission on Constitutional Reform in 1999. He is also the founding Associate Dean and College Secretary of the Angeles University Foundation Law School. He is currently the Executive Vice President and acting Registrar of Republic Central Colleges.
Angeles is the son of the late Antonio Y. Angeles, Past District Governor of Rotary International District 3790 and formerly Executive Vice President of Angeles University Foundation, and Victoria Lazatin-Angeles, president of Republic Central Colleges.
