Thursday, May 15, 2008 AUF, SM Clark hold Flores de Mayo tilt
ANGELES CITY -- The Angeles University Foundation (AUF) and SM City Clark, in cooperation with CLTV 36, are jointly staging the Search for the Reyna Ning Flores de Mayo 2008 to be held at the SM City Clark Event Centre on May 24 at 5 p.m., said AUF chancellor Emmanuel Angeles.
A total of 24 young ladies from the different towns and cities of Pampanga will be competing in this pageant wearing the creations of local designers.
Considered as the grandest Flores de Mayo competition ever, the event is for the benefit of charity patients at the AUF Medical Center and AUF scholars. Now on its third successful year, the event also aims to pay tribute to the Kapampangan beauty and ingenuity.
Other related activities include the Flores de Mayo Exhibit on May 19 also at the SM City Clark Event Centre, to be followed by a press conference and mini fashion show featuring the competing beauties on May 21.
The winners will receive: P30,000 -- grand winner; P20,000 -- 1st runner-up; and P 10,000 -- 2nd runner-up. Big cash awards also await designers of the Best Filipino Gown and Best Arch.
