The victim met his untimely death by electrocution as the tropical cyclone's heavy downpours resulted to flooded barangays and some electrical wires were cut and downed due to strong winds last June 22
Report revealed that while the victim was walking along the flooded road of said place, he accidentally stepped on the live wire.
The victim was immediately rushed to Army Support Command (Ascom) Hospital in the neighboring town of Apalit by his neighbors and relatives but was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians.
Meanwhile, the Office of Civil Defense-Central Luzon revealed that although Pampanga was not much affected by the typhoon, 10 barangays of Guagua town experienced wider flooded areas reaching up to one foot deep, and was then aggravated by the effects of high tide. Fortunately, the flood was quick to subside.
Superintendent Baltazar Mamaril, chief of the Police Information Office, said Pampanga was lucky to be spared from bigger destruction unlike its neighboring provinces in Central Luzon.
Mamaril said while only 52 hectares of rice fields were affected in Pampanga, the agricultural damage in Bulacan reached 128 hectares, while Tarlac 886 hectares.
