PORAC -- The fire marshal here has urged land developers in this town to consider fire safety measures.
"We insist on Safety First Policy, therefore we will see to it that the land developers here will not just take for granted the requirement that they should put considerable number of water hydrants on their subdivision," said Municipal Fire Marshal Eduard Laki.
Laki issued the statement following the projected mushrooming of subdivisions in this municipality.
Last month, four developers including Haus-Land Development Corporation and a Korean firm was called for a meeting at Office of the Municipal Mayor regarding the town's household safety program.
The developers were allowed to present their subdivision plans.
"We reiterated to them our strictness on safety for the welfare of every household," Laki said.
He added that the local fire office has 12 personnel which are enough to respond to the needs of the town.
At present, the town has one fire truck with can store 1,000 gallons of water. "What I could be proud of is the support of the leaders in the town when it comes to safety and order," Laki said.
The barangay leaders, he added, are very receptive to the programs of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) especially on the conduct of seminars and fire drills.
The BFP acknowledged the financial support of Mayor Rogelio Santos including the construction of a new kitchen at the Office of the Municipal Fire Marshal, Laki added.
Laki said the local government unit is planning to procure a small fire truck to augment the capability of the firefighters here.
