Halili said he will propose amendment to the beauty tilt at the Provincial Board (PB).

"This (beauty contest) is a program of the Provincial Government. It should be institutionalized," Halili said.

He lamented that several towns in Pampanga were not represented during the Mutya ning Kapampangan 2007. "Only three towns had representatives during the last Mutya," he said.

According to Halili, the Provincial Government should set also appropriate funds to subsidize the expenses of the contestants.

"Aside from the municipal funds, the province will also provide its counterpart fund to assist the candidates," he said.

The province has produced multi-awarded beauty titlist including Melanie Marquez, Maryln Maristela, Abigail Arenas, among others. (RGN)
