Mabalacat folks hit stink garbage truck
By Reynaldo G. Navales

MABALACAT -- Residents in barangays situated along McArthur Highway, in this town are complaining of the stink garbage trucks passing by the town.

Board Member Oscar Aurelio, chairman of the Provincial Board (PB) committee on health, sanitation and environmental protection, said the trucks pass by the town and dump their garbage at the Kalangitan sanitary landfill in Capas in Tarlac Province.

"I have information that some garbage from Metro Manila are also being dumped at the Kalangitan landfill," he said.

Aurelio, a medical doctor by profession, said his office has been receiving reports about the garbage trucks that emit foul odor.

Two years ago, the Mabalacat Municipal Government received similar complaints, according to Aurelio.

"We immediately ordered for the arrest of the truck drivers," he said.

He said the trucks should be properly sealed to keep the stench from coming out.
