Wednesday, August 06, 2008 Speak Out: Sa Pula o Sa Puti?
POLITICIZING has become an enormous game to play in. Having kind of pursuit, it is noteworthy to conclude that our government would never ever succeed in leading our nation towards economic stability and personal competence.
Politicians grow to be more cautious on how their visions would affect their agenda and image than on how these visions would take affect for the communal growth. Apparently, the Filipino people turn out to be the sole loser in this game inside political arena.
Our nation is faced with many snags: unstable oil price, devastating calamities to mention the chemical spill in Iloilo and typhoons "Frank & Igme," suspected Meralco scam, to eliminate or at least minimize poverty and to solidify the remaining knot that binds the whole nation against the seemingly invulnerable force of the country's insurgences and other forms of insurrection.
In a sense, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, together with her colleagues and supporters, are indeed standing daringly vis-a-vis these problems. But their attempt to respond to the prominent needs of the people is being thwarted.
There is no question about leaders' competence... the problem is right in the system... on our incapacity to adapt and adjust to sacrifice and to let go of our pride to move on.
