CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Why not? Especially if you are really in the business of taking care of other people.
The unique "Tiangge sa Ospital" is actually a highlight of the 51st anniversary celebration of VL Makabali Hospital in this city. The hospital has lined up a series of events that kicked off at 7 a.m. last Monday.
Theresa Pamintuan, the hospital's executive assistant, said this year's anniversary celebration revolves on "Reaching Out to the Community, that is why we at the hospital came with the idea of this tiangge."
She said the goods in the wet and dry sections of the tiangge were exclusively chipped in by the hospital staff. "All goods here are reasonably priced, from P20 meals, fruits and other food stuff to 50 percent discounted brand new signature items," she added. She showed this correspondent an important bag of a well-known line, which costs only P400, half of its shelf price in boutiques and malls.
The weeklong celebration also features free densitometry, blood typing and blood pressure check-up. Lecture series on adolescent health will also be conducted at the Pampanga High School and San Fernando Elementary School by Dr. Religaya Rivera and Dr. Edgar Licup on August 12 and 15, respectively.
