Thursday, August 28, 2008 MACAJ to speed up disposition of cases
ANGELES CITY -- The Metro Angeles Council on the Administration of Justice (MACAJ) on Wednesday announced that inmates will be provided greater access to justice as it strives to speed up disposition of cases.
MACAJ chairperson and Regional Trial Court (RTC) Executive Judge Maria Angelica Quiambao said the justice council is true to its vision to provide help for inmates.
"Inmates will not feel deprived because the society did not turn its back on them," she said.
Quiambao said MACAJ, which celebrated its 12th anniversary last August 22 at Camp Tomas Pepito here, provides legal assistance and address the need to decongest the courts and provide access to justice.
Mayor Francis Nepomuceno has lauded MACAJ for its continuing effort to enhance the judicial system and law enforcement in Angeles City.
He said these are fundamental components of the government structure and essential to democratic system.
Nepomuceno added that MACAJ is the driving energy to inaugurate change and translate doubt to devotion and make Angeles a city of domestic tranquility and peace.
Nepomuceno asserted that the local government is more than willing to provide assistance to MACAJ which vowed to continue its noble role in the society.
Other officials who graced the affair were RTC Branch 57 Judge Omar Viola, RTC Branch 62 Judge Gerardo Santos, City Prosecutor Oliver Garcia, former prosecutor Teilo Quiambao, Angeles City Police Office Deputy Chief Joselio Imperial, Angeles City District Jail Warden Neil Subibi, among others.
The City Health Office and City Social Welfare and Development also sponsored a medical and dental mission at the Angeles City District Jail during the MACAJ day celebration. (RGN)
