Wednesday, September 24, 2008 Most Institute opens doors to chef wannabes
WHO said Kapampangans need not go to cooking schools?
For Most Institute, a premier culinary school in the country, a Kapampangan who can cook well must at least learn the basics of food preparation, serving and the "science of cooking."
Formally opening its culinary school in Balibago, Most Institute now offers the best of classical European and Asian cooking to Kapampangans in this part of the province.
It did not take them long to decide and put a Most Institute branch here following their adage that Filipino cooking should meet international standards.
Soon enough, cooking enthusiasts and food lovers gathered for the formal opening of Most Institute-Balibago Branch.
Last Friday's opening was graced by local officials led by the Vice-Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting and the forerunners of Most Institute. Fr. Eduard Musni led the solemn blessing of the two-storey establishment along visitors and guests. Present during the occasion were Most Institute President Mel Obispo and Culinary Director Chef Mon Lota.
And as expected, the opening was peppered with food specially concocted for the occasion. The new enrollees of Most Institute also attended the opening. The fresh batch comes from diverse backgrounds and ages, all hoping to learn the rudiments of scientific cooking. Some of them actually enrolled with the prospect of becoming chefs abroad.
Cooking with Most Institute introduces student chefs to various ways in the kitchen and letting them mix, measure and chop will help develop their hand-eye coordination and their math skills (hehehe).
At the top of this culinary school, potential chefs will learn all the art and science behind the flavors and gain the skills you need to work in the culinary field.
Armed with the best continental chefs and the best equipment in cooking, Most Institute introduces a new wave in cooking. Sampling their recipes and looking at their facilities would surely entice food enthusiasts to enroll, true enough; the culinary school was able to fill in two classes for September, not bad for a new-comer.
