ANGELES CITY -- About 300 businessmen coming from different places in the country are expected to attend the 17th North Luzon Area Business Conference (NLABC) on Thursday at the Grand Palazzo Royal.
The two-day conference, with a theme "Raising the Bar for a Globally Competitive North," will be hosted by the Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (MACCII).
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. organized the NLABC, citing the importance of partnership between the public and private sector as winning formula for global competitiveness.
The conference will highlight plenary sessions focusing on the enhancement of North Luzon's competitiveness in terms of tourism, environment, infrastructure, transportation, human resources, and agriculture.
Among the speakers in the trade forum are former Department of Tourism (DOT) secretary Narzalina Lim, Subic-Clark Alliance for Development Council chair Secretary Ed Pamintuan, US Embassy deputy counselor for Economic Affairs Timothy Neely, Presidential Task Force on Education Ambassador Donald Dee, Education Secretary Jesli Lapus, Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap, and Texas Instrument president Dr. Norberto Viera.
Senator Kiko Pangilinan will lead the opening of the event, which is slated until Sunday.
A part of the conference is a trade fair at SM Clark. Fifty exhibitors, small and medium scale enterprise, will showcase and sell their respective products. (RGN)
