Shabu lab raided
By Chris Navarro

FLORIDABLANCA -- A suspected shabu laboratory in Barangay Consuelo here was raided, a police official said.

Pampanga Police Provincial Director Keith Ernald Singian said chemicals and equipment used in manufacturing methamphetamine were recovered during Wednesday’s raid conducted by his men and operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The maintainers of the shabu laboratory, mostly Chinese nationals, managed to elude arrest. Three of them were identified as Peter Pei, Caroline Dy, and Eugene Bao.

Prior to the raid, Singian said the shabu laboratory was discovered by a team of policemen led by Superintendent Gregorio Lim, chief of the Pampanga Police Intelligence Branch.

He added that the policemen were investigating a land dispute in the area when they have learned about the shabu factory.

Upon discovering the place, Lim immediately coordinated with the PDEA office at Camp Olivas in the City of San Fernando for assistance.

Singian said the syndicate used a hollow block factory as front to the shabu laboratory.

Aside from the maintainers, Singian said they are also looking for a certain Vilma Dimarucut, the owner of the property.

Accordingly, Dimarucut acquired the lot from a certain Jesus Dimla sometime in 2004.

PDEA provincial chief James Rayco said the seized illegal substances including chloroform and pyridine worth millions of pesos.

The chemicals were taken to the PDEA national office in Quezon City for examination.
