CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The 10th Likha ng Central Luzon (LCL) will be held on October 8 to 12 at the Megatrade Hall 2 of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City with the theme "Natatanging Produkto, Ipagmalaki sa Buong Mundo."
The LCL, now on its 10th year, is the major regional trade promotion activity jointly organized by the Department of Trade and Industry Region 3, Philexport 3 and the Regional Development Council (RDC) 3.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional Director Blesila Lantayona said the LCL fair has proven to be an effective venue in promoting the products of the region to institutional buyers and exporters based in Metro Manila.
"It has become one of the much awaited trade events of the region's Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) because of its significant impact on the operations of their business."
True to its theme for this year, the LCL expects a total of 142 SMEs from the region's seven provinces to participate in the fair showcasing the following products: food (fresh and processed), 51; giftwares and holiday decors, 44; wearables (fashion accessories, leather goods, footwear, garments and bags), 27; furniture and home furnishings, 18; and others, 2.
Highlight of this year's fair includes the Central Luzon raw materials showcase featuring semi finished and new products of Aurora's sabutan; Bataan and Bulacan's bamboo; Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Tarlac's corn husk; Zambales' serpentine; and Nueva Ecija and Tarlac's water lily.
Likewise, the top three sellers in last year's LCL shall be awarded and they are Casamoda Handicraft, Lualhati Enterprises, and Jesslyn Marie Marketing.
Five municipal branding programs will be launched namely Mariveles Bags, Udyong Mangoes, Bagac Casoy, Mabatang Brooms, and Likas Morong Vinegar.
Aside from the region's seven provinces, other cooperating groups are Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (Citem), Product Development and Design Center Philippines (PDDCP), Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), and various industry associations in Central Luzon.
