City recognizes winners in ‘Ocalympics’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Mayor Oscar “Oca” Rodriguez led on Monday the awarding of the winners in the various sporting competitions of the Ocalympics at the city hall Plaza Vidal de Arrozal Atrium here.

The winners came from the annual Ocalympics which brings together various departments and government employees here in a whole-day of sporting events. The Ocalympics was held last month on the time of the 63rd birthday of Rodriguez.

The mayor was accompanied by other city officials in honoring the winners. The event, participated in by employees coming from the different city hall and government departments, was a success, according to Rodriguez.

The winners for the individual categories include: for Badminton 3rd Place: Cluster 2nd Place: Cluster 4, Champion: Cluster 2 of the admin team composed of Michelle Lingat, Aileen Villanueva, Louie Clemente and Christian Peter Villanueva

In the Volleyball competitions, 3rd Place went to Cluster 8 with Cluster 4 on 2nd place and Cluster 3 as this year’s champion. Cluster 3 is composed of Neelam Pangilinan, Leilani Dizon, Marilen Malabanan, Ma. Teresa Doble, Teresita Pabalan, Roxanne Teodoro, Ma. Lourdes Binuya, Queenie Santos, Generosa Beron, and Remily Espinosa.

This year's “Mythical Six Selections” for Volleyball are, Neelam Pangilinan (Cluster 3), Teresita Pabalan (Cluster 3), Ma. Lourdes Binuya (Cluster 3), Aileen Manalo (Cluster 4), Teodora Nabong (Cluster 4) and Jennifer Lising (Cluster 8) while the award for Most Valuable Player was bagged by Teresita Pabalan (Cluster 3).

For men’s basketball, the 3rd Place went to Cluster 2 with Cluster 3 at 2nd place and Cluster 7 manned by Ralph Daniel Henson, Renato Agustin, Angel Mendoza, Levi Panlilio, Jeffrey Sanchez, Randy Lozano, Christian Bacani, Hernan Malonzo, Allen Sicat, Ronnie Reyes, Jess Lugtu and Anthony Lazaro.

Special awards for basketball include:

Mythical Five:
Best Center – Rolando Bondoc (Cluster 3)
Best Forward – Councilor Renato Agustin (Cluster 7)
Best Forward – Edmond Aquino (Cluster 3)
Best Shooting Guard – Hernan Malonzo (Cluster 7)
Best Point Guard – Ariel Mercado (Cluster 2)

Most Valuable Player:
Councilor Renato “ATO” Agustin (Cluster 7)

For the Local Government Unit (LGU) Association of Barangay Kagawads (ABK) Basketball Tournament the winners are:

ABK South (2nd place)
ABK North (Champion)

Mythical Five:
Best Center – Randy Lozano (ABK North)
Best Forward – Jeffrey Sanchez (ABK South)
Best Forward – James Manalo (ABK North)
Best Shooting Guard – Bernardo Policarpio (ABC South)
Best Point Guard – Ronnie Reyes (ABK North)

Most Valuable Player:
Ronnie Reyes (ABK North) (IOF)
