CL police to go after men who don't appear in court hearings

CAMP OLIVAS -- Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Errol Pan ordered the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Division here to come up with an updated lists of police personnel regionwide who have pending administrative and criminal cases filed in different courts.

This is in support of the programs and policies of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Jesus Verzosa towards a genuine transformation.

Pan said there are 17 police non-commissioned officers charged with serious neglect of duty, particularly for non-appearance in scheduled court duties where their physical appearance is direly needed for the speedy solution of cases.

Of the 17 charged policemen, he said eight are assigned in Bulacan Provincial Police Office; six in Nueva Ecija PPO; two in Zambales PPO; and one in Olongapo City Police Office.

Pan said since he assumed the regional directorship here more than a year ago, a total of 22 policemen have been dismissed from the police service; 58 were suspended; and eight were demoted due to administrative charges filed against them.

He said he supports Versoza's thrust towards a genuine transformation and cleansing the police ranks of misfits.
