Tuesday, October 14, 2008 Twins parade mall for city's twin feasts
ANGELES CITY -- In line with the celebration of this city's twin fiestas, twins from all across the province trooped to SM City Clark here for the first ever "Twin Parade" over the weekend.
SM City Clark's Parade of Twins was held at The Meeting Place and was able to gather almost 40 pairs of twins from various places. Twins -- identical, fraternal, young and old came in their costumes and parade around the mall and were presented at The Event Centre.
According to the organizers, October has been a much-awaited month here because of the month-long celebration of the city's Twin Fiesta, which commemorates Fiesta La Naval, in honor of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary, and Fiesta Apu Mamacalulu, in honor of the Lord of the Holy Sepulcher.
Because of this, mall officials had found it fitting to come up with an activity that highlights the said events.
SM City Clark gave away a total of P50,000-worth of SM gift cheques to the winners which include Jan Mikaela and Juan Miguel Pangilinan, three-month-old twins who were in their hamburger and fries attire were awarded as the Twins in Best Costume.
Also, Paul Laurence and Victor Paolo Tolentino, nine-year-old twins who came all the way from Lubao, Pampanga won as the Twins Coming From the Farthest; Victoria Vergara-Dejarlo and Elizabeth Vergara-Alejandrino, 41-year-old twin sisters from Dau, Mabalacat were given the special award as Oldest Twins.
Ial and Ian Concepcion, two-month-old twins from Angeles City were the Youngest Twins.
Tied for the Most Alike Twins were Michelle Angela Shane and Mariel Kristina Shane from Angeles City, and Juan Pablo Segundo and Uno Francisco Cunanan from San Fernando, Pampanga while Darwin and Daisy Bernardo, 12-year-old twins old from Lourdes Sur, Angeles City were awarded as the Twins Least Alike.
