Gatus denies being a Panlilio supporter
By Chris Navarro

CANDABA -- "I didn't say that I supported the governor. We in the Vice Mayors League (VML) still maintain our neutrality on the recall petition."

This was stressed by Vice Mayor Bienvenido Gatus who clarified that he is not a loyasl supporter of embattled Governor Eddie Panlilio as published on Monday in Sun.Star Pampanga.

Gatus was reacting to the caption of a photo wherein he was caught in a stolen shot with embattled Governor Eddie Panlilio, Councilor Adriano Gulapa, Rudy Mallari, former Barangay Captain Ceferino Manimbo and others during a fiesta celebration in Angeles City at Gulapa's house.

The caption stated that Panlilio "is flanked by loyal supporters."

"The truth is, I just arrived. The governor was on his way out from Andy's house I Angeles, I bumped into him there. I accompanied him on the way out," Gatus said.

Gatus clarified that he will still abide by whatever stand the Vice Mayors League of Pampanga (VMLP) will take on the ongoing recall move against Panlilio.

"Whatever the league's decision is on the recall, that is what I will follow."

It can be recalled that the VMLP earlier issued a statement that they would only favor the recall if it is the best move to make this province more progressive.

"If it is good for Pampanga, we will support the recall issue," the VLMP was quoted as saying.

The VMLP officials said they would also base their decision on who would face Panlilio in a recall election.
