Saturday, October 18, 2008 Speak-out: Makarine! Nakakahiya!
SHAMEFUL and shameless. That is how the Inquirer editorial called the recall petition against Governor Ed Panlilio. I also believe so.
I believe this is the time to stand and be counted for what is right.
It is my sincere belief that Governor Panlilio is the best Kapampangan leader that Pampanga ever had. For the first time we have someone untainted by corruption and unencumbered by personal agenda in leading the province.
Governor Panlilio has served for only a year and his detractors and sworn enemies have hurled every accusation that they can invent against him. From the start they tried to paralyze his administration through the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and impede the implementation of provincial projects in every municipality.
We, therefore, must resist and fight the move of the well-financed recall movement no matter what it takes. The recall petition is a shameful and shameless move that has cast doubts on our capability as Kapampangans to discern the truth from lies and do what is right for the province and the country.
The good people of Pampanga produced one Among Ed who can even be elected President in the future and here are his sworn enemies in the province ganging up on him because he refuses to be like them.
Sana migising tamu. Talakad tamu para keng matulid!
Huwag tayong magmukhang kahiya-hiya! Tanggihan at labanan ang recall!
Hon. Andy Gulapa
