THE Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the largest business organization in the country, has recognized Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PamCham), Incorporated’s “commendable efforts in accelerating business growth in the area as evidenced by its exemplary leadership and dynamism, strong advocacy program, good working relationship with government, increased membership base and effective delivery of services.”
The award was conferred to PamCham last October 22, the third day of the Philippine Business Conference (PBC) from October 20 to 22, 2008 at the Manila Hotel.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, guest of honor and keynote speaker, presented the award to PamCham president Renato Romero.
Also present during the conference and awarding were PamCham chairman Levy Laus, directors Malou Garbes, Cesar Ocampo, Jim Jimenez, Jesse Yap and Terry Carlos, members Arch. Nestor Mangio, Board Member Catalina Bagasina and Romy Dizon.
The PBC is the largest congregation of businessmen all over the country, with delegates from as far North as Cagayan to down South as Basilan. The PBC also brings in businessmen from Southeast Asia, Europe and the US looking for partners and investment opportunities in the country as well as discussing issues and concerns of the global business community, making the event the best opportunity for business matching and networking for PCCI members and affiliates.
The PBC is also the venue where the effective interaction and collaboration of the private and the public sector is most evident. The culmination of the conference is the presentation of resolutions by the business sector to no less than the President of the Republic of the Philippines.
Arroyo herself addressed the entire business sector and presented her response to the resolutions.
