Joining the Wednesday night celebration was Rotary International Governor Jess Nicdao, who was joined at the presidential table by Vice President Boy Tuazon, PP Ely Bondoc, PP Rey Maun, PP Emer Feliciano, PP Amor Silva and PP Conrad Garcia.

The late-night celebration was also attended by City Mayor Oscar Rodriguez, Renato Lee who is Philippine Consul to Taiwan and son Renato Lee, regional director of the Office of the Press Secretary here.

During the celebration, Pacla urged fellow Rotarians to continuously scout for new and aspiring members that will enrich the club's roster of talents and movers. He, likewise, gave members a rundown of the objectives of RC San Fernando for the 2009.

Pacla urged members to adopt school programs to improve the quality of education, feed malnourished children, attend medical and dental assistances among others.

Meanwhile, president Dong Kurn Lee also expressed his salutations to the club through a formal greeting read during the event.

"This year, the time has come to show the world what we can do to reduce child mortality. Rotary has an array of programs in place that can help achieve this goal," Dong said, stressing that this would solve the underlying problems in communities where children often do not live to reach five years of age.

Governor Jess solicited the help of the Rotarians in combating Polio through donations to the Rotary Foundation.

"Polio in the Philippines is almost an eradicated disease and this is because of the donations that we have been giving. It is necessary that we continue our support to keep the program going," Nicadao said.

All of these were discussed amid festive food and overflowing drinks. The party lasted until the wee hours of the evening with the Rotarians even more determined in making dreams real and sharing the gift of service.
