Kids Love Fashion: Children take center stage in fashion show

FASHION and glamour has never been as wholesome and bubbly, well not until SM City Pampanga hosted the first ever children's fashion show.

SM City Building 4, SM's newest wing, was filled with smiles and bubbly laughter as kids from age 3 to 13 had strut their stuff on the cat walk wearing the best brands of children's apparel that various SM shops had to offer. Most of the kid-participants come from Pampanga's crème de la crème families.

And kids can't really go wrong. Despite some bloopers on the cat walk, the fashion show did not fail to deliver.

Organized by Jovanni "Bang" Pineda, the kids were given varied tips on how to present themselves on the catwalk.

"It was a bit difficult to work with the kids at first but then again it was fun and really looking at them spells a whole lot of fulfillment," Pineda said.

Indeed, the children were in the good hands of a master under the tutelage of Pineda.

He is the expert stylist of the country's top musical variety show-Asap '08. His long list of works include styling for many album covers, music videos , concerts and shows like the B Bench finals and has designed clothes for the country's premiere actors and actresses like Megastar Sharon Cuneta, Sam Milby and Jed Madela.

Those who attended the event were all captivated by the unique charm of children having their own fashion show. Roselle Ocampo, SM Pampanga's amiable public relations officer, said the event aimed to capture the A and B market for the Building 4 (Newest Wing) tenants of SM Pampanga.

Dubbed as "Kids Love Fashion," the event was the first ever children's fashion show in Pampanga.

Thanks to the generous help of the sponsors who made the event possible. The likes of Kipling -- who provided the kids' bags and other apparel, Periwinkle;, Big & Small -- for the kids' apparel, Florsheim Kids USA -- for the kids' formal & semi-formal footwear, Crocs -- for the kids' casual footwear, and Broadway Gems -- for the kids' accessories, Picture City -- the official photo sponsor for the event.

Lil people, Let's Face It, and Quantum also supported the fashion show.

"The fashion show showed an interplay of casual, sporty and funky dress line dedicated solely for kids," Ocampo said, adding that SM Pampanga provides not just practical clothing lines for children but also fashionable ensembles.
