Nepomuceno donates firearms to police
By Reynaldo G. Navales

ANGELES CITY -- Mayor Francis "Blueboy" Nepomuceno has donated some 10 high-powered firearms to the Angeles Police City Office (Acpo).

The firearms, which include infant assault rifles, were turned over to city police officials led by Senior Superintendent Pierre Bucsit on Wednesday.

According to Nepomuceno, the firearms will augment the existing armory of the city police in fighting criminals and maintaining peace and order in the metropolis.

The donation of firearms is part of the City Government's assistance to the police. Patrol cars and motorcycles were previously given to the city's law enforcers.

The city also sponsored the construction of two additional cells at the city jail. Police personnel also receive monthly allowance of P 1,000.

Bucsit thanked Nepomuceno for the support he extends to the program of the city police especially the "Angeles Armor Security Plan."

He said the equipment and vehicles donated by the city hall will certainly boost the capability of the Acpo in fighting crime.

The armor security plan was conceptualized Bucsit. It is aimed to control the ingress and egress of criminals to the city through strong and random checkpoints.

Bucsit said police visibility in identified crime prone areas is maximized.

Central Luzon police director Nilo Dela Cruz also expressed gratitude to Nepomuceno for his support to the city police.
