Friday, December 19, 2008 City hall workers get P10-T extra cash gift, salary increase
SAN FERNANDO CITY -- The City Government here has approved the issuance of a P10, 000 extra cash gift to City Hall employees.
The release of the extra cash gifts is in line with a recent reclassification of this capital city to a “first class” city by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
Mayor Oscar Rodriguez told employees last Monday that the money will come from the city government’s savings. The City Council is expected to formally approve the release of the extra cash gift within the coming days.
Rodriguez said the city “is now more than able” to give the extra cash gift requested by City Hall employees.
Aside from the extra cash gift, the mayor said city hall employees will also be given a 10 percent salary increase.
The City Budget Office, according to him, confirmed that City Hall “can shoulder the salary increases of City Hall employees.”
“We strive to motivate our employees to work harder and better in their respective duties. The salary increase would serve as encouragement that their handwork is properly compensated,” Rodriguez said. (IOF)
