Let me also thank Mr. Ram Mercado who mentioned me in his column last Dec. 17. I believe that Mr. Mercado had no unhealthy intention in his article. I believe that he did not intend to harm anybody’s reputation in his column and I respect his opinion.
Please let me reiterate that what I have done as the chairman of the Aldo Ning Kapampangan was for the sake of peace and unity. There were no political colors or selfish intention involved in our efforts. With humility, I can say that I never stepped on anybody’s toes during the ANK events. I have considered and respected everybody’s beliefs and positions.
As I have stated before, the Aldo Ning Kapampangan was apolitical. Its events did not intend to glorify anybody and were not for any personality. They were for our beloved province and cabalens. They were for the people of the entire Pampanga province.
I believe this was the reason why several board members and mayors who have political disagreements with Governor Eddie Panlilio graced the Aldo Ning Kapampangan events. They knew that what we had organized were for the people -- and they were there for the people.
We in the ANK executive committee deeply appreciate the support shown by fellow public servants, government employees, non-government groups, and those from the private sectors who contributed their time and efforts to make the Aldo Ning Kapampangan events successful. I know that what we did, we did not do it for ourselves but for our province and cabalens in the name of unity and our proud heritage as Kapampangans.
Thank you for accommodating my letter in your newspaper.
