MABALACAT -- Two persons were killed in a vehicular accident, which transpired along the MacArthur Highway in Barangay Dolores here at dawn Friday.
Police identified one of fatalities as Richard Ian Valenzuela Basco, 25, a student of Flight International School and resident of 212 Caballero Street, Belen Homesite, Angeles City.
SPO1 Rener Garcia, who was in charged of the case, said they have yet to establish the identity of the other victim.
The duo, said Garcia, were bound north on board a motorcycle when they accidentally collided with an XLT-type passenger jeepney parked along the highway.
According to witnesses, Basco and his companion were traveling fast on board the bike without a headlight before hitting the public utility vehicle.
The victims were taken to the Tiglao General Hospital in Barangay San Joacquin for treatment but later succumbed to multiple body injuries.
Their bodies were brought to the Pangilinan Funeral Parlor in Barangay San Francisco here for autopsy.
Garcia said they have filed charges of reckless imprudence resulting to double homicide against the driver of the passenger jeepney identified as Allan Salunga Ramos, 32.
Ramos admitted that he parked his vehicle along the highway while eating at a carinderia.
