Lim hails Taliņo for achievement
By Shiela H. Aquino

"Your conferment as a top police officer made us all the more glad and confident that with you as head of our local PNP, we always have the upperhand in our campaign against drug abuse and maintain peace and order to the hilt."

This was said by City Mayor Benjamin Lim to City Police Chief Noli G. Taliņo as he congratulated the latter for being chosen as one of the Ten Outstanding Members of the Policemen in Service (COPS) for year 2003.

The national search is a project of the Metrobank Foundation Inc., and the Rotary Club of New Manila East in Cooperation with the PNP.

Now on his second year as chief of police of the Dagupan City Police Station, Taliņo won in the commissioned officers category.

No less than President Gloria Arroyo formally conferred the awards on March 10 at the Heroes Hall of the Malacaņang Palace.

"May you continue to set the standards of a true officer and a gentleman who value integrity, uprightness and dedication in your profession," the mayor noted even as he stressed how proud Dagupeņos are for having him as chief of Police.

Lim also asked Taliņo to become more effective in mobilizing the citizenry to support not only the programs of the PNP but the city programs as well, as he assured the unconditional cooperation of the City Government.

"Truly, you are a significant factor of the success Dagupan City now enjoys," he added.
