Community dance party watcher slain

MANGALDAN -- A man watching a community social dance party in Barangay Buenlag here was stabbed to death the other night.

Municipal police identified the victim as Alex Viado, 25, single, a resident of Cortez Street in Barangay Guilig, but are still facing a blank wall as to who perpetrated the crime.

Marlon Dacasin, 21, a resident of Poblacion in Sta. Barbara town and Gary Viado, also of Cortez Street, said they were watching the dance party when the victim sought permission from them that he would just urinate.

At 10:50 p.m., the duo purportedly heard two gunshots but they were unperturbed. It was only after 30 minutes later when Viado failed to return that they became worried and looked for their companion.

The victim was found in a grassy lot, already sprawling in his own blood 75 meters away from the dancing hall. Viado suffered from three stab wounds in right chest and eye, and in the nose.

Police investigators opined that the perpetrators could have dragged the body after they stabbed him and fired the gun.

They came up with the theory because one of the victim's slippers was found 25 meters away from his body. FPM
