Car theft cases dipped

THE incidence of car theft in Pangasinan has dropped by 40 percent for the past eight months compared to the same period last year.

Records at the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office showed that the accumulated cases of stolen vehicles from January to date have decreased by 40 percent compared to the same period last year.

The police noted however, an increase in sales of stolen vehicles in the province.

They said vehicles stolen from other places are dumped in angasinan.

Dealers of carnapped vehicles purportedly have with them fake documents showing that the cars are legally owned.

They expressed suspicion these dealers are based in Natividad town where they could readily escape once their illegal activity is exposed.

The police called on the residents to be vigilant in buying stolen cars. (FPM)
