Beware of fake CIDG personnel

PERSONNEL of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) based in Dagupan City have intensified their monitoring against unscrupulous persons who are using the agency in the conduct of illegal activities.

CIDG-Dagupan Chief Noel Vallo urged the public, especially owners of business establishments, to help them in arresting the impostors who have been reportedly soliciting money from businessmen and traders.

"These impostors are destroying the name of the agency," said Senior Inspector Vallo.

Vallo said he has allowed his men, not even their confidential agents, to solicit money for the renovation of their office and the purchase of office equipment.

This developed as some businessmen in Dagupan City and other areas under the jurisdiction of the CIDG have complained of having been solicited money.

Vallo said if there are people who introduce themselves as members of the CIDG, the public should ask for identification card.

"Look at the back of the card and if the signatory is Chief Insp. Rolando Osias, they are fake CIDG men," he said.

Vallo pointed out that Osias had long been reassigned somewhere else.

"These unscrupulous persons have also been destroying the name of Major Osias," he said. "Major Osias has no knowledge about this illegal activity." FPM
