MBSL leads grand costume parade By Giovanni F. Madrid
DAGUPAN City Mayor Benjamin S. LIM led the grand costume parade and parol-making contest held Tuesday afternoon, opening the annual fiesta celebration.
The event, which is among the main features of the city fiesta celebration, was joined by Vice Mayor Alvin D. Fernandez, Councilors Farah Marie Decano, Eric Muņoz, Charise Perez, and Michael Fernandez, this year's Hemano Mayor.
Also present were city and barangays officials like secretary to the mayor Elmer Lorica and Pawil Dagupan II executive chairman Leon Palaganas, among others.
The colorful parade that was participated in by at least twenty barangays here was held at the main thoroughfares of the city and ended at the City Plaza Auditorium for random judging and eventual awarding of the winners.
Winners for the best in costume included barangay Pugaro, 5th place; Poblacion Oeste, 4th; barangay Salisay, 3rd; Lyceum Northwestern University, 2nd; and barangay II-III, emerging as grand champ.
For the parol-making contest, adjudged as major winners were barangays Salisay, 3rd place; Bacayao Sur, 2nd; and Pantal, 1st.
